What is recorded here
Burial Gd. (Site of) was the living heart of a Mayo church enclosure, a place where the community gathered to honour the dead and mark the boundary between the ordinary world and the mystery beyond. It stood within a sacred boundary, giving shape to faith and memory before the land changed around it. Though no grave remains visible, the site still carries the weight of that lost purpose, inviting imagination to complete what time has erased.
In an ecclesiastical enclosure (MA082-035004-) with two churches (MA082-035001-; MA082-035001-). Not indicated on the 1838 OS 6-inch map; indicated as ‘Burial Gd. (Site of)’ on the 1916 OS 6-inch map. The interior of the ecclesiastical enclosure was used as a burial ground. No graves are now evident.
