Two basin-stones (DG045-009001/002-) are lying along the main street of Kilmacrenan. (1) (DG045-009001-) A boulder 1.22m x .6m has a depression .29m in diameter and 0.17m deep at one end. A second depression .05m in diameter and at least .04m in depth is cut at the other end of the stone. (2) (DG045-009002-) On the E side of the road a roughly square block of stone .31m has a depression .14m in diameter and 0.06m in depth. No information regarding the provenance of either stone was available.

Likely dating to the early medieval period, bullaun stones were traditionally used for grinding holy relics or administering communion, and are often associated with Christian monastic sites. Local folklore may link this stone to early Irish Christian practice or saintly activity in the area.
