What is recorded here

Kildreenagh is an abandoned church in County Carlow. A large granite boulder with two conical hollows sits forty metres northeast of the church site. The hollows suggest kneeling or prayer, though no written account confirms that use. The stone still marks the place where the church stood.

Dated to the early medieval period, bullaun stones were often used for ritual or practical purposes, such as anvil stones for metalworking or Christian pilgrim practices. Local folklore may associate them with holy sites or ancient healing traditions.
