Keel holds a child burial place on sloping pasture between two Owbeg tributaries, abandoned before the late nineteenth century. A missing depression may still hide there, turning ordinary grass into a threshold where forgotten children entered the earth without fences or warning.

KE072-001---- is noted in the OSNB as a 'burial place for children ... not fenced in' (Glanbeagh, 45), and was no longer in use by the late nineteenth century. It is located in sloping pasture between two tributaries of the Owbeg, on the W side of the Caragh river valley. A stone with a depression for holy water is locally reputed to exist on this site.
