Bullaun stone in Fahee South,tullycommon

Bullaun stone

What is recorded here

Listed as Bullaun stone (possible) in the SMR (1992) but unlocated and not listed in the RMP (1996). Westropp (1896, 364) described, ‘… ascending the ridge [from Cahersavaun cashel, CL010-067----], we pass a late-looking enclosure, near which, in the rock, are three basins, so regular as to suggest their being artificial.’ The route followed appears to have been eastward towards Tullycommon and Fahee South townlands. This possible bullaun stone was not found during an inspection of the general area in 1999. Compiled by: Gearóid Conroy and Conn Herriott Date of upload: 26 May 2023
