Situated on flat pasture in an upland area with a ringfort (TN019-014001) 45m to the W. An earthfast boulder (dims. 1.38m x 1.1m x 0.3m) with a deep circular depression (diam. 0.37m; D 0.3m) on the surface. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). Likely dating to the early medieval period, the bullaun stone may have been used for ritual or symbolic purposes, possibly associated with the nearby ringfort. Such stones are often linked to Christian or pre-Christian traditions, including the preparation of holy water or as markers of sacred sites.
