Group of four cast-iron mooring posts, c. 1860, now disused.

These mid nineteenth-century mooring posts form part of an interesting group of harbour related structures with the early nineteenth-century ashlar limestone quays, walls and steps, which were built on both sides of the north channel of the river Lee. This group of mooring posts is a physical reminder of the former industrial heritage of this area of the city, and makes a notable addition to the streetscape.
