A number of stone pillars, erected c. 1845. Running in a straight line across Dorrin's Strand in Sligo Harbour from the mainland at Scardan More to Coney Island. Square rubble limestone pillars on twice-stepped rubble limestone plinth bases. Situated to the north of a stone causeway.

These pillars are vital to guide the motorist or pedestrian across the tidal flats of Sligo Harbour. The pillars act as markers to ensure the, safe, stone causeway is not strayed from by the unwary user. As a landscape feature they present an intriguing conundrum to the uninformed and their solid construction on shifting sands is a vivid reminder of man's constant battle with nature.
