Building in Unknown Townland

Building

What is recorded here

Excavations in 1984 at the Four Courts Extension revealed a series of arched foundations which were believed to be part of a 16th century building (L 18.2m). These had semi-circular arches springing from solid masonry piers. Heavily mortared, roughly coursed limestone masonry was used throughout (McMahon 1988, 271-319).

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
