This brown commemorative plaque records: Site of Talbot Hotel c1800-1840 Town Commissioners met here and courts were held from 1800. Demolished during the construction of the railway which opened in 1849. Recorded plaque organisation: Rotary Club of Wellington.
The Talbot Hotel served as a significant meeting place for Town Commissioners and hosted courts from 1800 until its demolition in 1849 to make way for railway construction.
