Rubble stone causeway, built c.1820, spanning Rosscarbery Bay. Battered rubble limestone walls with camber-headed arch to west, having dressed limestone voussoirs. Rubble stone parapet walls with render curved coping.

The oldest and longest of three causeways spanning Rosscarbery bay, this fine causeway makes it possible to access different parts of the bay despite fluctuations in water level. Utilitarian in purpose and design, this causeway demonstrates excellent local stone craftsmanship.
