Three-arch hump back road bridge over canal, extant 1838. Tuck pointed coursed or snecked limestone walls centred on drag edged tooled limestone ashlar triangular cutwaters to piers having ball-topped pyramidal capping with tooled cut-limestone "Torus" stringcourses supporting dwarf parapets having rock faced cut-limestone "saddleback" coping. Series of three elliptical arches with drag edged tooled limestone ashlar voussoirs centred on drag edged vermiculated cut-limestone double keystones. Sited spanning canalised Westport or Carrowbeg River.

A Classically-detailed bridge representing an important component of the civil engineering heritage of Westport with the architectural value of the composition confirmed not only by the "sparrow pecked" sheer limestone dressings demonstrating good quality workmanship, but also by the elegant "sweep" of the arches making a pleasing visual statement at a crossing over the canalised Westport or Carrowbeg River.
