Single-arch sandstone railway bridge, built 1860, carrying Shantonagh Junction to Cootehill line of Great Northern Railway over road. Now disused. Segmental arch, having rock-faced rusticated voussoirs, cut-stone impost course, dressed stone soffit. Snecked rusticated abutments and walls, splayed diminishing wing walls of snecked dressed limestone, both having rusticated copings. Square-plan terminating piers with rusticated capstones. Carriageway overgrown.

This robust railway bridge with rusticated and tooled sandstone masonry is typical of mid-nineteenth-century railway architecture. Notwithstanding its disused state, this bridge retains its character, and the craftsmanship and engineering skill required for its construction are evident. While it served the same purpose as the nearby single arch railway bridge in Lisnalong, the difference in form, treatment and character between the two highlights the skills of the engineers and masons involved.
