What is recorded here

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Brechin Cathedral as Hogback Stone (early Medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
Brechin Cathedral is associated with Saint Brechen, an early Christian saint believed to have founded a monastery in the area during the 7th century. The site's hogback stones, carved with Christian symbols, reflect the fusion of Pictish and Norse artistic traditions in early medieval Scotland.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
