The Garinish boulder-burial stood on flat pasture at the foot of a northwest-facing slope, its wedge-shaped cover stone resting above three supports until spring 1977. Two similar burials in Ballynacarriga remain 240m and 350m to the southwest, marking a line of death and memory across the bay’s hinterland. The loss of the first did not erase the practice; it shifted the visible weight onto its neighbours.
