Castle Bay on Barra holds the remains of Bonheur, a nineteenth-century lugger that struck the Hebrides sea and vanished into the shallows. The ship may have carried trade goods or desperate passengers when the water took her, but the bay keeps the event without warning.
Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Bonheur: Castle Bay, Barra, Sea of the Hebrides as Lugger (19th Century). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 100m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
