Half a century after his execution, Thomas Davis walked the grass and imagined Tone still breathing beneath the soil. The graveyard has since absorbed marches, bombs and rival parades, yet it remains small enough for one person to circle in minutes. What is being repeated is not history but hunger: the insistence that a buried man can still be spoken to.
