What is recorded here
Lowther College occupied the castle in the twentieth century, continuing a multiperiod life that reached back through the nineteenth century. Children may have run through the great hall, their voices bouncing off stone that had watched older ceremonies and forgotten purposes. The castle did not belong to one century or one use. It belonged to every hand that entered, remembered or forgot the name Bodelwyddan, and left changed by its size.
The National Monuments Record of Wales records Bodelwyddan Castle, Great Hall Lowther College as School from the 20th Century; Multiperiod; 19th Century period. The saved point comes from the official national record. Inclusion does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
Bodelwyddan Castle, Great Hall Lowther College, was originally built in the 19th century and later used as a school in the 20th century. It is remembered for its historical and architectural significance in the context of Welsh educational and domestic architecture.
