What is recorded here
Boat Cave in Ballintoy Demesne, County Antrim, may no longer exist. The question mark in its own name admits that the hole, shelf or entrance which once held a boat has vanished, perhaps buried by soil or taken by men. What remains is a coordinate and a warning: the land forgot one of its rooms.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as Boat Cave (Destroyed?). The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
