Marianne touched the inset backstone where the gallery narrows, feeling cool chamfered rock beneath her palm. She had carried soil from three valleys before finding this small chamber hidden above Sruhaunphadeen. The two roofstones still bridge the dead chamber, proving that human hands shaped the mountain long before written memory.

In sheltered position c. 39m N of a low rocky ridge at head of Sruhaunphadeen valley to NE of Douce Mountain. Comprises gallery (L 3.1m;Wth 1.2m at W end, 0.95m at E) aligned ENE-WSW. Gallery sides each of two stones, those to W being shorter and set inside line of other two; inset backstone at E end. Gallery decreases in height from W to E; surrounded by closely-set outer walling and covered by two roofstones. No indications of surrounding mound. Portal dolmen; Neolithic period. Its orientation and construction reflect early megalithic traditions in the region, indicating ceremonial or funerary use.
