What is recorded here

Gilburn Place in Bo'ness marked a quoits ground from the early to mid twentieth century. People may have swung heavy rings across that Falkirk soil, testing strength and aim while watching where the metal flew. The flat earth may have echoed with laughter, argument and the heavy thud of rings striking target.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Bo'ness, Castleloan, Gilburn Place as Quoits Ground (early 20th Century) - (mid 20th Century).
