Blackcastle was a small Nairn farmstead with three roofed buildings and one open two-compartment structure, recorded in 1869 and drawn on the 1871 map. It has no protected status or surviving monument entry, but the shape suggests ordinary Highland domestic life: a long building for work or storage, smaller rooms for people, and an open bay where carts, tools or weather might have passed through. The farm may have been abandoned, moved or simply stopped being drawn, which is common in the Highlands when maps change and fields are forgotten.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Blackcastle as Farmstead (post Medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
