Bivallate rath and Lisdoo passage still lie hidden beneath Castle Balfour Demesne in County Fermanagh. A double-ringed fort and underground chamber may have served people in the Christian era, perhaps as a refuge, treasury or boundary marker. The earth keeps both shapes private, waiting for rain, roots or curiosity to reveal what hands once built.
