Deer Park still holds a bivallate rath, two concentric rings of earth that may have surrounded a home, a shrine or a boundary marker during the early Christian period. The shape suggests exclusion as much as protection, forcing every visitor to approach through a narrow gap where the owner could watch, judge or refuse. That much of the structure has faded means the field remembers more than it displays, keeping its purpose buried beneath grass and rain.

The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as BIVALLATE RATH. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. Recorded protection: Scheduled. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
