Bivallate Rath in Ballyness, County Derry, Ireland, stands as a scheduled ancient earthwork, its twin ditches still tracing the shape of a place where people once drew a line between inside and outside. The stones and soil may have held hearings, arguments, births or burials, while the land around it carried feet, carts and rain. Its name resists easy explanation, but the structure remains clear enough to imagine: a boundary made flesh by human labour, waiting for memory to return.
