What is recorded here

Ballynagalliagh holds a bivallate rath, meaning two concentric rings of earth enclose one another instead of a single wall. That doubled boundary suggests the place wanted more distance between its people and the open field. Perhaps the first ring kept ordinary traffic at bay while the second reserved a quieter inner life for those already trusted. The land still carries that layered refusal, waiting for someone to walk its edge and discover which ring they belong inside.
