What is recorded here

Edge to edge, the shallow trenches still cut across the Stranocum field like a drawing someone made before leaving. The underground passage beside them is not a cave but a cut space, narrow and deliberate, as if people wanted to disappear without going far. Perhaps they walked it when rain threatened the settlement above, or perhaps they simply liked the dark company it gave back. Either way, the land kept the shape of that choice.

The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as BIVALLATE RATH AND Man-made underground passage. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. Recorded protection: Scheduled. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
