What is recorded here

Former entrance screen of Beaufort College, c.1860, now in use as pedestrian entrance to housing estate and park. Three square granite gate piers with shallow bow-fronted panels to front and double-sided palmette finials. Cast-iron railings on granite plinth wall, and single leaf of former double-leaf cast-iron gate. 'BEAUFORT' and 'COLLEGE' inscribed to caps of two piers.
A most attractive entrance ensemble with intricate cast-ironwork and finely carved piers having unusual classical detailing. Adds character to this varied section of the streetscape.

This does not grant access. Most recorded buildings are privately owned; view them only from public ground unless the owner allows entry.
