What is recorded here

Beaufort Castle sank without a soul at Faraid Head in November 1816, dropping its cargo of tallow and hemp into the dark Atlantic. The ship had left Petersburg bound for Dublin when a north-northwest gale caught it near Loch Eriboll. Its hull may still lie beneath that churning water, waiting for a diver brave or foolish enough to find it.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Beaufort Castle: Faraid Head, Atlantic as Craft (19th Century). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 100m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
