Bawn in Tullerboy stands beside Castle Ievers in County Limerick, where Walter Leo and Morcas Leo owned the castle, bawn, and stone houses during the 1654-56 Civil Survey. The Ordnance Survey recorded ancient castle ruins adjoining the residence of R. Ievers in 1840, while the National Inventory of Architectural Heritage describes a detached country house built around 1830 with a late medieval castle behind it. The bawn remains as a rectangular enclosure marked by rubble limestone walls and cut crenellations, preserving the shape of a defended estate that outlived its owners and changed hands across centuries.

The Ordnance Survey recorded in 1840 that there was the 'ruins of an ancient castle adjoining Castle Iever or Tullerboy House, the residence of R. Ievers, Esq.' (OSNB Athlacca Parish, 142). The 1654-56 Civil Survey of Limerick recorded that Walter Leo & Morcas Leo of Tullorvoy, Irish Papists, were the owners of 'a Castle [LI031-088----] a Bawne, a tatch wall stone house and another house on it' (Simington 1938, 127). Castle Ievers and the medieval castle of Tullerboy described by the National Inventory of Architectural Heritage (NIAH) as a, 'Detached four-bay two-storey over basement country house, built c. 1830, with central breakfront, portico to front (west) elevation, five-bay side elevation and adjoining late medieval castle to rear (east) elevation.
