Bawn in Bunacrower, County Mayo, holds an irregular shape marked only by sod-covered foundations barely visible above the grass. A tower house stands in the north-west sector, suggesting the area served as a defended domestic or administrative centre during the medieval period. The surviving earthworks hint at a busy place where people lived, worked and possibly resisted intrusion, though the exact character of that community has faded from memory.
