What is recorded here
Battlefield in Unknown marks a fighting place in County Donegal, though no date, name or event has emerged to give it shape. The land may still hold the memory of weapons, fear and sudden change, even when human records have forgotten the cause. What is known is that violence happened there, and the ground remained.
The Archaeological Survey of Ireland (ASI) is in the process of providing information on all monuments on The Historic Environment Viewer (HEV).
