BATTLE SITE in Eden

BATTLE SITE

What is recorded here

Mud, blood and bone still lie beneath the grass. Men bled there in the 1600s, and the ground drank every drop. The dead never left; they became the soil that grows the living world above them.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as BATTLE SITE. Recorded period: C17TH; POST-MED. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
