What is recorded here

Mutton and biscuit crumbs still ghost the shallow water where Clontymullan men waded against Drumane in 1594. The ford gave both sides a narrow lane of death, forcing courage into a line thin enough to count. Men who charged hungry became the hunger the river still remembers.
