What is recorded here

In 1641, weapons clashed on Ravelin's Hill in Ballynameen, marking the land with blood and fear. The hill itself never spoke back, but men who ran past it likely heard their own breath as the loudest sound in the world. What they lost there stayed buried beneath grass and rain, waiting for footsteps to disturb it again.

The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as BATTLE SITE: BATTLE OF RAVELIN'S HILL, 1641. Recorded period: C17TH; POST-MED. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
