To the memory of the Jacobite Soldiers who died at the Battle of Prestonpans
Jacobite forces under the command of the Young Pretender, Bonnie Prince Charlie, defeated a government army at the Battle of Prestonpans in September 1745, marking the first major victory of the 1745 Jacobite Rising. The battle was significant as it boosted Jacobite morale and set the stage for their advance toward Edinburgh.
