The Battle of Glen Shiel took place on 10 June 1719 in the Scottish Highlands, during the Jacobite rising of 1719. A Jacobite army composed of Highland levies and Spanish marines was defeated by British government troops.
Jacobite forces, including Highlanders and Spanish troops, fought British government forces in the Battle of Glen Shiel on 10 June 1719 in the Scottish Highlands. The British victory ended the Jacobite rising of 1719, weakening further attempts to restore the Stuart monarchy to the British throne.
