The Battle of Beachy Head, also known as the Battle of Béveziers, was a fleet action fought on 10 July 1690 during the Nine Years' War. The battle was the most significant French naval victory over their Grand Alliance opponents during the war.
The Battle of Beachy Head was fought on 10 July 1690 between the French Navy and the combined Anglo-Dutch fleet of the Grand Alliance during the Nine Years' War. The French, under Admiral Tourville, achieved a significant victory that temporarily weakened the alliance's naval dominance and allowed France to strengthen its position in the war.
