Bath Abbey was originally founded in the 7th century and rebuilt in the 15th century, with its current Perpendicular Gothic-style interior largely dating from the 1499–1522 rebuilding under Abbot Thomas Beckington. It is dedicated to Saint Peter and Saint Paul and is significant as one of the finest examples of late medieval monastic architecture in England.
