One of four barrows on Athenry golf course (GA083-066----; GA083-067----; GA083-068----; GA083-075----). This barrow is on the 9th fairway and consists of a very poorly preserved circular ring-barrow (diam. c. 12m), with a low central mound (diam. 5.5m) surrounded by a fosse and traces of an outer bank. A Neolithic ring-barrow, dating to the 4th–3rd millennium BCE; it is a rare and early form of burial monument, significant for understanding prehistoric funerary practices in Ireland.
