An unthinking farmer in Ballyvorisheen, County Cork, probably before 1858, broke through a large cover stone with a levelling tool and exposed the bones of two people inside a small stone chamber. He destroyed the mound that had protected them, leaving only a smooth hillock in pasture where a Bronze Age burial landmark once stood. The remaining two barrows nearby suggest the hillside belonged to a community that marked death with visible stone, but the vanished chamber denies that memory any shape.

Outside W edge of ringfort (CO040-06101-). Levelled. Circular area (3.4m NNW-SSE) enclosed by traces of fosse and outer bank.
