Barrow

The ring-barrow located on the sandy pasture land behind and overlooking Ventry strand has been severely disturbed by rabbit burrowing and by a disused field fence which runs onto the bank at E, and its outline is very irregular. It consists of an external bank up to .75m high, an inner fosse c. 6m wide, and a central mound which rises c. 0.75m above the fosse and which is c. 7m in diameter across its upper surface; the overall dimensions of the site are c. 40m N-S and 35m E-W. There are 3 major breaks through the bank; that to NNW is possibly original, but the others are apparently due to more recent disturbance. About 10 to 20m to S is a ringfort (KE052-044----).
