In rough wet pasture, in the W of a group of barrows (LI040-049002-007-/009-) and enclosure (LI040-049008-). Not marked on OSi historic maps. Possible site (No. 040242) identified during examination of aerial photographs (BGE 1/50000 2550, No. 040255) taken 03/11/1984 on the Bórd Gáis Éireann Curraleigh West-Limerick gas pipeline as a small circular cropmark. No surface remains visible on OSi orthophoto taken between 2005-12. No trace visible on Google Earth orthoimages. Ditch barrow, likely dating to the Early Bronze Age. Its location within a group of barrows suggests it is part of a ceremonial or funerary landscape of regional significance.
