Banff, 12 Castle Street, Bank is a two-part witness: a 19th Century tenement and a 20th Century bank. One part held people, the other held money, and both still stand in Aberdeenshire. The building may have watched wages leave kitchens and return as deposits, or watched hunger wait outside while ledgers balanced within.
