Balnagown Castle, Deer Park is a medieval enclosure beside Balnagown Castle in Ross and Cromarty. It is no longer a separate castle or hall, but the surviving shape of a managed landscape where people controlled deer, boundaries and visibility. The park may have given the castle wealth, pride and defensible distance. Even without a standing wall, the land still carries the intent of the people who shaped it.
