What is recorded here
Ballyoan Cemetery holds four hundred recovered Famine victims beside ordinary locals, refusing the usual division of sacred and forgotten. The dead workhouse people arrived in the mid-1990s after being overlooked for centuries, while the living keep coming until the hillside fills in the late 2020s. Its empty temple of rest still faces the Foyle like a room built for witness but never invited to speak.
Ballyoan Cemetery is a cemetery in County Derry, Ireland.
