Ballymore Lodge

Detached three-bay two-storey house, built c. 1870, having flat-roofed single-bay single-storey porch to front (south) elevation and lean-to to rear (north) elevation. Pitched slate roof with rendered chimneystacks, cast-iron rainwater goods and overhanging eaves. Rendered walls, slate hung to west elevation. Render cornice to porch. Square-headed openings with cut limestone sills. Those to first floor having four-over-four pane timber sliding sash windows, bipartite to outer bays. Those to ground floor having bipartite round-headed pane four-over-four pane timber sliding sash windows. Bipartite round-headed one-over-one pane timber sliding sash windows to porch. Square-headed openings with two-over-two pane and six-over-six pane timber sliding sash windows and replacement uPVC windows to other elevations. Square-headed door opening to porch with timber panelled door. Detached gabled outbuilding to east of site with pitched artificial slate roof, terracotta ridge capping, rubble stone walls and square-headed openings with fixed timber window and timber door. Detached four-bay single-storey former gate lodge, to west, with gabled single-bay porch to front (east) elevation and later flat-roofed extension to rear (west). Pitched artificial slate roof with rendered chimneystacks, cast-iron rainwater goods and timber bargeboards. Rendered walls. Square-headed openings with timber windows with pivoting overlights. Square-headed door opening with timber battened door. Rendered square-profile piers with cast-iron double-leaf gates to site entrance.

Large size and regular façade articulated by the narrow and bipartite openings which retain fine windows and cut limestone sills. Slate hung wall is notable feature and adds interest and context to façade. Forms group with outbuilding to site and gate lodge to west.
