Ballylahan Castle is a twelve-metre tower house built in 1260 by Jordan de Exeter on the south bank of the River Moy. Fedlim Ó Conchobair attacked the castle in 1316 and almost destroyed it, leaving only one circular tower beside the east entrance. The surviving walls still guard an irregular hexagonal bawn where buildings once pressed against the western stone.
