What is recorded here
Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Aurora as Boat (period Unassigned)-(2011). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
The *Aurora* was a 19th-century wooden sailing vessel that sank in 1873 near the Isle of Cumbra, Scotland, after striking a reef during a storm. All four crew members drowned, and the wreck carried no significant cargo; its historical value lies in being one of the few documented small vessels contributing to Scotland’s maritime heritage in the post-Victorian era.
The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
