Armorial plaque in Aghamore Near is an armorial plaque in Aghamore Near, County Sligo, Ireland. The rectangular slab bore the French coat-of-arms above the initials EF and formed part of a memorial to Andrew FitzJohn O’Crean and Ellen French. It moved from the Dominican priory at Sligo to Tobernalt before 1893, while a matching counterpart remains at Sligo Abbey. The present location of this specific stone is unknown.
Formerly set into an altar-like structure at Tobernalt holy well (SL014-238----) it consisted of a rectangular slab bearing the coat-of-arms of the French family below which were the initials EF. This stone had been moved from the Dominican priory at Sligo (SL ) to Tobernalt prior to 1893. A corresponding matching counterpart survives at Sligo Abbey where it is set against the wall under the tower. The stones undoubtedly formed part of a larger memorial to Andrew FitzJohn O’Crean and his wife, Ellen French. The present location of this stone is unknown. (Timoney 2013)
